Barclays Frequently asked questions

Ask a question

What if I get my PIN wrong?

You have three attempts to enter your PIN correctly. If you enter the wrong number three times running, even if it's at three separate shops or businesses, your PIN will be locked and you won't be able to use your card until it's unlocked.

If you remember your PIN after it's been locked, you will be able to go to a cash machine to unlock it. If you cannot remember your PIN, you can contact us and we'll send you a reminder of it. You'll then need to go to a cash machine to unlock it.

Most Barclays cash machines offer the option to unlock your PIN. Select 'PIN services' from the screen menu and the 'unlock your PIN' option.

If you need a reminder of your PIN for your Barclays Connect or VISA Electron card, contact your branch or Telephone Banking (the number is on your statement). If you need a reminder of the PIN for your Barclaycard, call 0870 154 0154*.
