Which cash machines can I use in the UK and abroad and what are the charges?

If you have a Barclays Connect or VISA Electron card, you can get up to £300 a day in local currency as a Personal Banking customer, as long as you have the funds in your account or an agreed overdraft.

You can use your debit card at more than 3,800 Barclays machines for free and at other machines wherever you see the VISA, PLUS or LINK signs in the UK.

If you use a Barclays machine, you can check your balance, print statements and change your PIN in addition to cash withdrawal. Use our cash machine locator to find your nearest cash machine at home and abroad.

You can use either card abroad wherever you see the VISA sign. There are fees for withdrawing cash abroad but there is no cash withdrawal fee if you use one of more than 25,000 cash machines belonging to one of our Global ATM Alliance partners - see this page for full details of the alliance and the charges you pay.
