How do I set up, change or cancel Direct Debits?
You won’t be able to set up a Direct Debit yourself – that’s done by the company you’re paying, once you’ve given them the OK to do so. They can also amend a Direct Debit, with your permission.
You can cancel a Direct Debit in Online Banking, go to the ‘Account services’ link in the top blue menu bar of your homepage then select ‘Standing orders, direct debits, future payments & transfers’ under the ‘Manage payments & transfers’ section.
If you’re cancelling a Direct Debit, remember to notify the company you’re paying, so they don’t try to take the payment from your account.
