Can I still get my interest tax-free if I have a joint account?
Yes. If you're a non-taxpayer but have a joint account with a taxpayer, you can still receive your share of any credit interest tax-free with our partial registration service. This will split the interest so that half is paid with tax deducted and half free of tax.
To register, you need to send a completed HM Revenue & Customs R85 form to us with details of the accounts where you want to split the interest.
