How do I get an Online Banking membership number?
To get a membership number, you need to register for Online Banking.
If you haven't registered yet, you can now register online for Online Banking if you have a Barclays Cash Card Account or a Connect/VISA Electron debit card. If not, then call the Online Banking Helpdesk on 0845 600 2323 (outside the UK dial +44 2476 842063)* or contact any branch.
Once registered, you will get a 12-digit membership number and a five-digit passcode or a PINsentry card reader (if you plan on making bill payments). Your passcode or card reader will arrive by post for security reasons. With your membership number you can access a limited online service. The full service will be available once you log-in with your passcode or PINsentry.
During log-in, you may save your 12-digit membership number on the computer so you don't have to type it every time you use Online Banking. You should not do this if you're using a computer in a public place, such as an internet cafe.
Only joint accounts where either party can sign are eligible for Online Banking and each person will have to register for Online Banking separately for security reasons.
If you've forgotten your log-in details, we can remind you online provided you have a Connect or Electron card.
