What is PINsentry?
PINsentry is a new way for you to use Online Banking using chip and PIN technology and changes the way you log in to and make certain payments.
You need to use the PINsentry hand-held card reader together with your bank debit or authorisation card to authenticate your identity when setting up payments to someone new. If you are upgraded to PINsentry, you will also use it to log-in.
You will be prompted to upgrade to PINsentry when you try to make a payment to someone new during the Pay a Bill or Someone process. You will NOT be able to make that payment until the card reader arrives so if the payment is urgent you will need to make other arrangements for the payment to be made.
