How do I cancel a Direct Debit?
There are a number of ways to cancel your Barclays Direct Debit, but first you’ll also need to tell the company who you usually pay that you’ll be cancelling your Direct Debit, and pay them any money you owe.
To cancel a Direct Debit, you’ll need to let us know before 5.30pm at least 1 working day before the payment’s due to leave your account. For example, if you want to cancel a payment that’s due on Monday, you’ll need to let us know before 5:30pm on Friday.
You can cancel your Direct Debit in the following ways:
Log in to Online Banking, select the option to amend or cancel payments and follow the instructions. Make sure you don’t cancel all your Direct Debits, just the one that you no longer want to pay.
Barclays Mobile Banking app
Log in to your Barclays Mobile Banking app, select ‘Account management’ and then ‘Manage payments’. Then tap ‘Direct Debits’. Choose the account your payment comes from. You’ll see a list of Direct Debits for this account – select the one you want to cancel and follow the instructions.
You can cancel your Direct Debit using Telephone Banking on 0345 734 5345 (outside the UK +44 247 684 2100) * (if you’re registered).
Or you can cancel your Direct Debits in a branch.
