How do I log in to Online Banking?
You can log in to Online Banking using a PINsentry card reader, Mobile PINsentry or your passcode and memorable word.
In order to log in to Online Banking, first click on the green ‘Log in’ icon in the top right-hand corner and our log-in page will open in a new window. You’ll need to enter your surname in the first text box, and then choose the details you use to log in to Online Banking – whether it’s your membership number, debit card number or sort code and account number (you can save these details so that you won’t have to input them every time you log in).
Log in with PINsentry: Enter the last 4 digits of your card number, press ‘Identify’ on the PINsentry device, then enter your PIN. An 8-digit authorisation code will appear. Enter this into the text box and press ‘Log in’. This will give you full access to your accounts within Online Banking.
Log in with mobile PINsentry: Mobile PINsentry is a feature in the Barclays Mobile Banking app that you can use in the same way as your PINsentry card reader. Depending on the type of smart phone you have, you can access Mobile PINsentry either using a ‘PINsentry’ button on the log-in screen of Barclays Mobile Banking or, once you’ve logged in to the app, by tapping the icon on the top left and selecting ‘Mobile PINsentry’. Press ‘identify’ and, if prompted, re-enter your Barclays Mobile Banking passcode. Finally, enter the 8-digit code displayed on your phone on to the Online Banking log-in screen.
Log in without PINsentry: You can log in to Online Banking using your memorable word and the passcode you were sent in the post. However, if you usually log in with PINsentry, you’ll need to set these up. This can be done by selecting ‘Account services’ in Online Banking and then ‘set up my passcode and memorable word’ under the ‘Customise my site’ menu.
Logging in without PINsentry won’t give you full access to all of our services, but you’ll be able to see your balances, transfer money between your Barclays accounts, and make payments to people or companies you’ve paid before using Online Banking
